As you might have noticed, I've been AWOL for the past three months. With some health issues that needed to be dealt with, kids to get off to college and such, I pretty much put my banjo playing on hiatus for the summer.
But now I'm back and with renewed focus. I have finally made a decision about the type of music that I want to concentrate on - Celtic music for the 5-string. I'm using this book (to the left) as my guide. It's very helpful. I'm also going to work on some Christmas tunes to get ready for December. I would like to play with the family as they sing.
Along with the Banjo Hangout, I also stopped taking lessons for the summer as well. I intend to resume, but probably with a different teacher. The one that I had was good, but lacked organization. I need someone with a vision of how to teach and organizational skills to do so.
Hope all of you are doing well.
Take care and keep pickin'.

Ja, good to see you back, Steve. Hope you're fit & well again. Good luck with the change in banjo direction. Being from the UK I love that Irish sound too. I'm going to stick with clawhammer & bluegrass though. They're more than enough for my abilities at the mo :-)
