One happy daddy

My boy had his 7th birthday on Saturday and I wanted him to have a very special day.... We arrived at the park where he was going to ride his new razor scooter with his sisters and the park was occupied with the weekend soccer games and there was no place to really play. We had all loaded back into the car and were heading to another park a few miles away when we saw a yard sale sign. My boy loves to tinker and play with things, so when he wanted to stop I said ok. We looked at tools, old junk, etc. when I saw an electric guitar and amp in the corner. When we gathered up all the items (few Nancy Drew books for my girls, some brass bells, other small items) we started on "how much" He said $30 since he was not sure the guitar and amp worked. After a trip to the bank we loaded the items and headed to the park. My son could care less about the scooter, he wanted to see if the guitar worked. We headed to Guitar center to test it out. We plugged it into an amp there and RRRnnnnggggg.... IT WORKED!!!! He could hardly contain himself while I bought new strings for it. We returned hom were he played with it for several hours before letting me restring it. I cannot say who was happier.....me or him. I watched him all afternoon saying "Thank you Lord" while he made a joyfull noise on his new guitar.
