Progression and Depression

Posted by Patanio on Tuesday, May 8, 2012

Played the first Murphy Method song last night, sounding very good.  I was very happy to hear what some practice does.  Then it occurred to me that I was going on a fishing trip for 9 days, and instead of being happy I became disturbed that I would miss Stella!  How weird.  To totally come to enjoy something so simple, so much.  I know I will lose some chops, but, fishing is my other passion.  Why can't I have a house on the river with banjo's conveniently placed so I could play and fish as much as possible.  Someday.

Hahaa! I was faced with a similar dilemna stepkids were at their dads for the weekend and my wife had some sort of purse party so I had some time in the afternoon to myself. I decided on fishing, as I wanted to hit a spot not terrain friendly to kids (they usually go with me). A 4-5lb bass through the tube jig back at me as he danced across a log, and it became apparent I made the wrong choice. Still felt good to be out, but my banjo has never spit out a jig, barely even a song....YET!

I am getting to old, and back problems keep Me from fihing anyway, But I still pick banjo, and guitar. Your Stelling looks nice. I had one almost 18 years ago, wish I still had it. at My age, I play at Jams, Church,, Nursing homes. and at (jail). I figure someday I may end up in a nursing And would enjoy someone coming and playing for Me. and in jail, which I hope I will only pick there Ihope to never be a resident there HA.
