i went to the sertoma youth ranch festival last month and had a great time. This event is held near brooksville right off i75 in west central florida.
There was a good lineup with headliners of the gibson brothers, david petersen and 1946, the roys, and others. i enjoyed a lot of late night campground picking also, i even got to play a new huber true tone as well as a 1930s gibson flat head .
This was the weekend following earl scruggs passing so all the banjo pickers on the grounds were asked to go up on stage on saturday and play a few of his tunes in his memory and appreciation .

I was working with the children's program and didn't make it up on stage for the Earl Scruggs tribute - it was impressive from my perspective beside the stage.
It was a great weekend despite the storm that blew through on Saturday. We got tickets and camping for the November festival while we were there. Hope to meet up with you next time.

Yes we did meet - it was a positive experience all around. One of the other players - Dave, was tickled that folks were stopping by and picking (patiently) with us. I'll be camping in the same area in November. Hope to seeya then.
