I have been a musician of sorts all my life. When I started on the banjo, I found that I had met my match. I have been struggling with it for quite a few years now. I LOVE to try to play and I finally feel that I am making progress. Wish I had started playing much earlier.

My banjo addiction is also quite severe. I have been playing for one and half years now and wish I had decided to try more seriously to play music before age 44 because it makes me so happy! Keep on pickin'

It's sure never too late to make progress. Though I began as a teen and was serious for a while, family and work took most of my energy. With family grown up and work an easier challenge, banjo is right up front again. I've learned more in this last decade than the last three decades put together!

What nice comments! When I wrote the few sentences of the blog, I was sure that NO ONE would even notice. What a pleasant surprise..

No doubt about it, you're a good banjo picker.

There's a lot to pickin' a banjo! I think having a guitar background helps a great deal, also fingerpicking a guitar, knowing bass lines and chords informs one's banjo playing. Don't be afraid to take your knowledge and technique from other instruments into your banjo arsenal of tricks.
