Tonight, I am trying to learn Paul Brown's version of "Black Annie." He plays it super fast on a minstrel banjo tuned low. Enter "The Amazing Slow Downer," some software recommended by Mike Seeger. You can get it here:
This program has already made it much easier to learn Brown's version of the tune. First, I changed the pitch to match my banjo in G tuning; next, I slowed it down to about 60% to hear everything he does.
