Tinkering with my Goodtime Crow banjo....the magic of Goodtime banjos! ...And banjos in general!

Posted by erikforgod on Saturday, March 24, 2012

Its incredible to me...this animal that we call "The 5 string Banjo" isnt it great that its just the sum of its parts? With a Goodtime banjo its like the basic skeleton, a banjo in the fetal stages...they are like banjos waiting to be born. I mean sure, they sound great right out of the box, but put a custom bridge on one, change the tuners, the head...maybe add a tone ring, and you really have a great banjo! I know some gripe about them not having truss-rods, and not having this and that, but I dunno what it is....I just love these little boogers. The necks are real thin, but very comfortable and I love the natural wood grain of my Goodtime Crow, but also the dark satin finish of my Goodtime Classic.

I know out of all of the banjos you guys have...their is one or two that "just stands out" that you know you could never part with. Anyone that reads this that would like to comment, I am giving you the floor...I want you to tell me about your favorite banjo(s) and just tell me about it/them...what it is that you love about it/them so much. Do you have a banjo(s) that you know life would never be the same without?
