After 6 years of 3-4 nights a week, I finally decided to give up working security at the Art museum. Now that I've only got 3 weeks left, I'm realizing how tired I really am...maybe I was running on adrenilin the past 6 years...LOL. Anyway, our 35th anniversary coming up and we're going down to Gatlinburg for a few days just to hang out and see the sights.
Will be stopping by Alewine Pottery and listen to Joan and Jerry Paul (Lost Mill Band) play their old-time/bluegrass music. They are a couple of fine musicians and if you're ever in the area, stop by and give them a listen. They are there pickin' most days!! Also have an old friend playing down at Cade's Cove, Carl Ross of Tymes Past, who we'll be visiting with and enjoying his music there by the visiter center and grist mill. After a relaxing trip, I'll get back home and start catching up on some projects I've put off for the past 6 years including the Honey-Do list....and, oh yeah...some neglected "banjo time"....LOL. I still have 3 years before I can retire from my "real job"....I'm sure that will come quick enough...but for now, I'll feel like I'm semi-retired....!!!

Greg, you've earned it, so relish the time. Maybe you'll be able to go camping more and maybe hit a festival or two. You ought to go to some of the open mic nights and jams in town, too. Expose people to some good music!

Good idea Greg...all work and no play makes a "briarhopper" a dull feller! Its time to free up some more time for banjer playin!

It'll be nice not to be called out in the middle of the night. Wish you the best . Do you happen to to the MACC in the summer?
Cathy and I are headed to Wilmington at the end of the month for Joe Mullins Indoor festival at the Roberts center.
