Whew-living in eastern TN is beautiful, if dangerous. We have been having severe thunderstorms and tornados these last few weeks. While my porch is great for sittin and pickin on, you get plenty wet when it starts to storm. Picked up another 1/2" of rain last night with more scheduled tonight with the severe storms predicted.

Hey there, Janice. Sorry you're having such awful weather. I'm originally from east Tennessee. Born and raised in Kingsport. I had cousins down Rodgersville way. My mother's family - the Hales - originally lived in Whitesburg in Hamblen County, and also in Hawkins County. The Hale Springs Hotel in Rogersville once belonged to distant relatives.

I am originally from Delaware Cnty Pa. We don't GET TORNADOS there, so these last 5 years have been a real eye opening experience for me. At least now I finally have television and can watch channel 11's 24/7 live weather channel so track the storms. Still have to keep a window open to HEAR a tornado at night-which sucks. I hate after dark tornados. The storms last week got as close as frog level. (7 miles from me as I am very near Pressmens Home/Eidson)
