The hallway is sealed off the back closet has been cracked open....here raty raty...HEEERRREE raty raty DIE RATY RATY DIE RATY RATY!!!!

Hi Eric. I hope you soon will cats the rat. But I know myself, it can be a hard fight. - Remember to place the trap close to the wall. Thats the place the rat run. I can tell you a terrible story from last year. But don`t be scared...you "only" have one. - I got a whole family..maybe two.. ( In the stable) I have pigeons. They were laying on egg. The rats want`s their eggs. The pigeons won`t move. So the rat cut their head off,and took the egg. Every day in three weeks I put my pigeons in baskets, and placed them in another room, for the night. The only food there were in the pigeons room at night, were poisions in boxes, and the food in the traps. In that periode my dog cats 9 rats - the traps 10. Rest of the rats were killed by poison. It was a hard fight....but at last I wun..... I have learned..Don`t go in panik..don`t chance places for traps....every time you chance place, the rat is a little scared.
Good luck. I`m feeling with you.
Torben

Torben It seems we lost...the rat was able to lick the sweet carmel spread off the bottom of the trigger without setting it off. The other trap the rat was able to listen the bait and steal it without getting caught...I am getting ready to go caveman on this little fart...Later whe my father in law comes home, we are going in there with some blunt objects and are going to dispatch it with some blows to the head...my wife and I are at our wits end now!! Nothing that a little bit of bludgeoning cant take care of...I dont want to make a mess but I want it gone already!!

part of the reason I didnt want to do it like this is beacuse there is only one...and it is in my home...but I cant see any other way out...my pregnant wife is stressed, I dont want the baby to be harmed by the stress...I am gonna just bludgeon it to death later today when my father in law gets home...if it makes a bloody mess...so be it!!

Hi Eric. I really understand you. Sorry I write "only " one. I forget to write..Thats one to much. You know...I can have something in my mind in Danish...sometimes it goes a little to fast, to translate to English. Even if I read it again and again, it often first when I have pulled on Post comment, I say to myself..thats not correct. Sometimes I first write it on a paper, and went to post it, to I have read it many times. Sometimes it work and sometimes i don`t. But I guess it`l be better and better, for every time I write in English.

PS: Times ago I told we were waiting for grandchild nr. 6. - 20 Feb. our daughter have a nice little girl. It`s fantastic every times a little baby is born.

I hope the best for you.
Torben

Torben...no problem your English is great and I understand..and I really appreciate your help. Its about 3:00 in the afternoon here and for the first time during the "day" we can here the rat chewing on the door and moving about inside the closet. It hasnt had food and water for about 3 days and they say that rats have very high metabolism and need to eat and hydrate frequently. Having said that, my father in law is home and taking his afternoon nap, here in a bit he will come over and we will take care of this....thanks!

The rat is dead Torben my father in law sped it as we were going after it and killed it..I couldnt see it...it was a little one, but my wife now says she saw one that was bigger...but we found a hole in the floor of the closet...the closet used to be a utility room...either they came up through the floor back there or through the back window..

YES...well done. Lets hope its the only one. Maybe its a good idea to come some poision ind the hole, and lay something over the hole. Don`t know how it is in Argentina. In Denmark we may not lay the poisons ourselves. Over the taxes we pay for a "rat man". Two times a year he visit us, to ask, if we have rats. If we see rats between the visits, we shall just call him.
Glad you got one.

Torben - I read in Germany they have "rat men" I think that may be a good idea...I am going to buy some concrete this morning and stuff that hole good and cover it again with that bronze great and stick it back down....last night it was peaceful and quiet in our home.
