So, as said in my bio, I began playing the banjo last September(2011). In these 5 months I've been thrilled every time I play the banjo. It's always an enjoyable experience, and I definitely have taken a liking to this instrument over the various others I have worked at.
Now, I know a handful of clawhammer, and traditional bluegrass tunes, as well as some modern 'cover' type songs. I am in a band as well. We're called 'Patrick's Beard & The Rusty Razors'. So, I'm a rusty razor indeed. The band was formed in Iowa by Patrick, and he moved here to Austin last October. We connected on Craigslist, and we've been jamming ever since. We frequently gig around Austin, and in March we look forward to a sort of mini-tour ending with us shooting a video in Keokuk, Iowa.
What fun!
Obviously, the journey is just beginning, but I hope to continue this love, and progression towards banjolier excellency.
Anyway, in case you'd like to hear Patrick's work(these recordings are not of me on the banjo), you can view them here - http://www.facebook.com/#!/rustyrazors?sk=app_2405167945 - and here - http://patricksbeard.com/
If anybody on here reads this, and is in the Austin area, let me know! Let's jam with, learn from, and teach each other!

Will do, Bird! I know we play a show the same night in Burlington, and I'll keep all posted on any show dates and/or jam sessions.
