One of my resolutions this year was to practice every day, even if it meant taking an instrument with me on the road when I travel. I was doing admirably well on this, even taking a mandolin (regrettably, not a banjo) with me to Tokyo for the last two weeks when I was there on business. Alas, I depart today for the States, and do not have room for an instrument on this trip due to work-related gear I have to take, shared-rental car constraints, etc. I will be completely without an instrument of any kind, and I will miss it.

I understand your dilemma all too well... Unfortunately, life has a way of reminding us that we are not in charge. Play until your fingers are sore when you return! (I have also taken to carrying picks with me just in case I stumble across a stray banjo on a pawn shop, music store, street corner musician, etc.)

Sorry to hear about that, Jay. I also have not had the chances to practice as much as I would like to.
