I know this may sound silly and I've been playing this song for a little while now and it always sounds different to me , is the Cripple Creek slide from 2nd to 3rd fret or 2nd to 4 sometimes I do both, sometimes in fact most times I do both because the faster I play the slide gets lost so I am trying to accent it more. Every time I hear this song played from different people the slide sounds different to me so I was wondering what you people think, plus I'm at my computer at work and I'm bored. Take Care.

Mario: I assume you're talking about the slides in the first four measures. The answer is "it depends."
if you play the slide as sixteenth notes - it's 2-3. If you're playing them as eight notes it's 2-4. Bottom line, play what sounds best to you.
If its important to you the Scruggs book (1960's version) show a 2-3 slide (sixteenth notes).
Have fun up there in cold New York

i think if you roll between 2 and 3 frets you will get a much better than slides
