Clawhammer

Posted by beniah on Tuesday, May 29, 2007

Visited Dan Levenson for a private lesson on 5/27- It was a 4 hr trip there and back, but worth it.

For one, the drive was gorgeous and pretty therapeutic- but the lesson was certainly worth the trip. Plus, Dan is a great teacher. I picked up his book and he completely changed the way my banjo sounds- I'm thrilled.

We put a fiberskin head and a no knot tail piece- I really like the new tone. I really enjoy the style and am looking forward to learning more songs.

Best thing in the world is taking a private lesson from a true teacher. When I'm in Arizona in the winter I have about a four hour round trip to take lessons. I've never regretted my decision to do so.
