Leading up to my 100th banjo, which I wanted to be special, I started working up different designs, but like other people who have trouble deciding on their banjo design, I could never settle on anything. Eventually I just skipped number 100 while I fretted over what to do for it, and then I was presented with the idea of making a small banjeaurine with an extended fretboard, ornamented with Cole inspired engraving. This was just what I had been waiting for - an unusual banjo that I had never tried before, and a way to use some of my new engraving skills.
I just finished it this week and love the way it turned out! I'll post some pictures here and on my website if you want to check it out.
Greg
PS I think I'm going to start planning banjo #200 now so I'll have the design worked out in time.

Congratulations on #100, Greg. And a banjeaurine is a great idea. I believe I see the photos of this instrument on your home page though they are untitled. It's a real gem -- as are all of the other instruments there.

There are pics on my BanjoHangout homepage - it's the little banjo with all the engraved Cole inlays - sorry, I was lazy and didn't title them.
