Yep....She's gone!!
As I think about the events of the last 3 and a half months, I wonder if this story is not fairly common place.
She left when I asked her if I could take her into town to fill out some applications. She looked at me sort of shocked and asked where that might be. I told her that doing nothing wasn't going to get it. That we offered our home as a place that she could use to get back on her feet again. SO, she suggested that she was having a hard time with all of our rules. (ie get a job, smoke outside, leave your cig butts outside) She made a call and was gone the next day.
I really think she is unstable both mentally and emmotionally. It seems that she stays with people long enough to wear out her welcome and then moves on. What happens when someone uses up their friends and families? Is that when they finnally end up under a bridge somewhere?
I feel bad but these were choices that she made. All I could do was offer what help I could.
Oh well.......on to other things.

They start over again because someone's always willing to take them in again.

Been there, done that, Ken. My sympathies to you. I had 3 of them over the years- a friend's friend, a friend's girlfriend, and the son of a friend. All of them were just like what you went through.
Nowadays, I try to follow my Great-Grandad's thoughts...House guests are like fish. After a week, they stink.
