I recently bought a Recording King Banjo Elite 75 that was shipped to me from Banjo Hut , the resonator pot was loose but I was able to adjust that no problem but I have been noticing a scraping kind of a sound from the fifth string (is this a buzz??) I brought it to a banjo player and he adjusted the rod a little on the inside and that lasted about two days, it comes and goes sometimes the louder I play the more I notice. Not a lot of people in my area that work on Banjo's, I'm kinda afraid to mess with anything myself. Any suggestions?

Has the Banjo got Spikes for the 5th String. If it has make sure the String isnt catching the top of one of the Spike, or the Slot in the Pip might be to Wide.

Check and make sure its not your pick scratching, if its a newer one that could be it. Rub the edge of your pick along a slightly oily part on your skin, then try again
