I've come to the conclusion that I'm way over my head when it comes to my banjo Finnemore. I don't have the money to have him repaired and I doubt that there is anyone on the planet except my step father, who left me the damn thing, who would encourage me to do anything more than mount Finnemore on a wall. It angers me. Why do I try to prove anything to anyone? And why does nobody give me any credit? When I was younger and took risks, I thrived. Now, it only encourages complete failure from friends and family. I suppose you really can't teach an old dog new tricks. Unfailing support would be nice once in a while. I don't wanna live the rest of my life regretting not doing something I knew I could do.

If your banjo has problems, can you afford to get another one that doesn't need repair? Then you could either take lessons from a teacher or get a good beginner book/CD to help you get started.

There is a sense of schievement when you overcome difficulties and there is no rush. Just enjoy what you can do.
