As most of you know I have cancer. I believe that I will Treat, Beat and Give God the Glory once I am free of this disease. It's been seven weeks since I was diagnosised. Now it's time for treatment. I think the best way to keep up with this is to post blogs on my Homepage.
Today was a busy day. Things are progressing quickly the past few days. I had three Doctors appointments last Thursday. Today, another sesion with the radiologist and then to out patient surgery to put in a port for chemo. Tomorrow I start chemo with a full day of chemo. The Doctor said it takes about four hours to get the treatment. Wednesday it will be back to the radiologist for final amrkings and "tattoos." Thursday will start the radiation.
I want to again thank all those that have sent me e-mails, posted on the "Keep Me in Your Prayer" thread. The words of kindness and encouragement make a bad situation comforting. Knowing I have so many friends praying for my recovery just shows the character of the great folks here at the Hangout. I don't think I could make it without you.

Bill, you'll do well. You want to fight, you want to beat this, and that's half the battle. Hang in, and like you, we are all here for you for the long haul.
Best wishes winging.... Joan

I'm so sorry you're having to fight this battle, but be sure there are many who are right there with you in spirit. I'll keep you in my thoughts, and think the very best for you. There's strength in numbers, so here you are a mighty man.

This is my 13th year after my cancer surgery. It came outa nowhere. And I'm happy to report it got sent back where it came.
Let me pass along some learnings that were shared with me back then.
Aside from a competent doc, FAITH and ATTITUDE are your best treatments.
FAITH: Remember, all that happens is in God's plan... the good, the not-so-good and everything in-between. And God's plan is perfect. Always. So whatever happens, you're where God wants you to be. Take the time to get to know Him even better through this. He especially wants to hear from you now.
ATTITUDE: You always have a choice. Always. Choose optimism... and everything else that entails. Be even MORE joyful, grateful and appreciative than you already are. Unlike cancer, attitudes are contagious! We you trust God through this, you will find yourself spreading good will, peace and smiles whereever you go. Look for Him working through you during this time. God opens the door, your job is to walk through... and lean on Him along the way. Do it with a smile.
This can be a WONDERFUL time for you! Sure, there are scary physical events happening. But it's all perfect. God designed this experience just for you. Find Him in it.
When you're on the back side of this event, read back through this email. And if you're so inspired, pass this wisdom along to someone else in need. That's what I'm doing for you!
Always remember, it's all part of the Perfect Plan. Now open yourself up to really "live" the adventure God's got out there for you, Bill.
Blessings... and PEACE!

Bill, my family and I are praying for you daily. Craig said it all and you've got what it takes to follow that plan.

Like's been mentioned above, faith and attitude with some laughter thrown in are some of the most powerful things when battling something like cancer, or any disease for that matter. Don't let it beat you. You beat it. Prayers being sent up for your quick and complete recovery.
