Learning Cripple Creek

Posted by Bwa908 on Sunday, August 14, 2011

Well, I've been at the banjo for about two months now. I've been learning the song Cripple Creek and am coming along. I enjoy practicing with it. I've been playing with my dad's new Flinthill banjo more that mine. I got my dad's old Johnson banjo that we shared once he bought his Flinthill. I like how this Flinthill has a higher bridge and makes it easier to play and sounds better with a tone ring in it. My teacher e-mailed me a recording of the speed he thought I should be going at and I can keep up with it. He is an AWESOME banjo player. He's been playing it for about thirty years and can play play a lot of songs and do a great job at it. He has a Banjo Hangout page and has a lot of good mp3's of him playing. His username is twa5. Thanks to those who accepted my friends requests. I enjoy coming on here and listening to people's music. I hope to have an mp3 up of me playing Cripple Creek when I get good enough. Thanks! :)
