A great evening to top off a great week at my favorite festival, the Appalachian Stringband Festival, aka Clifftop: a band we put together, called the Ratchet Mountain Rock Farmers, won the Trad band contest. This band featured TWO clawhammer banjoists (Kristian Herner and me), plus a banjo uke (Mark "Pokey" Hellenberg), Stuart Kenney on bass, and the incomparable Rachel Eddy on fiddle.
