This is the YoppTuner. The body is made of a piece of oak. The small hole in the back is first, then the larger diameter hole is drilled from the other side. Then the slots on the bottom are cut.
The moving bits are made from a drywall anchor. Cut off the end pictured here on the right and remove two of the prongs. bend one of the remaining prongs into the hook that holds the string, and the other prong is curled under to form a tab that will ride in the slot. I exchange the screw that comes with the anchor with a hex head cap screw.
The tab/slot arrangement keeps the hook from twisting when the screw is turned.
