Columbia Gorge Bluegrass Festival

Posted by Banjo-Man-Dan on Monday, July 25, 2011

I just got back from attending the Columbia Gorge Bluegrass Festival. I heard some wonderful music, enjoyed my friends and made some new ones. I particularly loved The Seldom Scene, Dry Branch Fire Squad, Prairie Flyer, John Reichman & The Jaybirds and The Bluegrass Regulators. Other great bands included Town Mountain, Sugar Pine and Caleb Klauder & His Country Band. The RV camping spaces were a little small to say the least, but the weather was wonderful and the Columbia River made for some beautiful scenery.

If you go to this one be sure to bring a 30 amp to 15 amp (household receptacle) converter to use to plug in to electricity and watch for low voltage problems. If you bring a large motorhome or trailer you should come early and plan on a late departure because of cramped conditions. The jamming was terrific so don’t forget your banjo.
