I hope it's that simple as that can be corrected without too much trouble.

Whether it's hypo or hyper -- both can cause problems and both can be maintained with medication. I've had hypothyroidism for over 10 years and medication takes care of it pretty well.

Hi John
All the best.
I feel for you.
My wife has had an underactive thyroid and takes tablets. She had panic attacks for a while and was always tired etc. She is now fine on tablets.
Funnily enough I started to suffer with panic attack disorder too a year or two later and have had them more on than off for te last 8 or so years.
I am now a little better and look after myself by working part time and by doing meditation, breathing and relaxation exercises etc.
Hope your doc sorts it all out.
I know panic attacks can be absolutely debilitating. I often thought of the analogy of if I had a broken leg people would understand and also support with do you need to sit down or don't do that with your bad leg etc
But people don't see a panic attack and also may be inclined to say pull yourself together etc.
All the best
