The Jamming Journey

Posted by Rusty on Sunday, July 10, 2011

I am on the jamming preparation and participation journey:

  • How to prepare
  • Be confident
  • Learning the tunes
  • Attending my first jam session in public
  • What did I learn along the way

Follow along as I jump off the deep end and finally realize my goal of hitting jam sessions in my home town of Minneapolis Minnesota.

Well the reality of life always creeps in on the best laid plans, I was planning on attending a local jam tonight but work obligations got in the way. I did manage to play for a half hour prior to calling it time for bed.
Look for more updates as I continue on the journey.

Another week has passed and I sat down and practiced three days this week, preparing for the beginner jam at Homestead Picking Parlor on Tuesday the 25th of July. I missed last weeks because of a work dinner that slipped my mind.

Here it is almost 30 days past and work and life has derailed my goals, I keep picking but not as frequent.
Winter will soon be here and things will settle down but will keep pushing to play every day.
