Clifftop is getting closer!

Posted by Hilarie Burhans on Tuesday, July 5, 2011

Well, I got out my notes from last year and started my extensive listmaking and planning process.  Lots of wonderful camp improvements for this year, including a dozen lightweight and very very comfy jamming chairs, TWO 10x20 canopies, and an improved sink setup. My main banjo is getting a new 5th string nut and having some work done on the tuners.  I'm remembering to bring flannel sheets (they feel so much less clammy than smooth sheets when camping!) and we have some new solar light strings to put up.  It's July already!!

Sounds great but you're gonna need an 18 wheeler to cart all that stuff soon Hilarie!

What kind of chairs did you get? I'm looking for some good lightweight ones too.

They're the mity lite flex one
$20 each at sams, and while I don't like shopping there, the price was way lower than any other I found.

Thanks Hilarie, I don't much like going there either but may check them out.... I checked the specs online and they look good.

When is Clifftop this year? I'd still like to come and camp with you. :)

They open Camp Washington-Carver at 1 pm on July 28. That's when we like to arrive. It's not until the following Wednesday (Aug 3) that retail merchants set up and the Appalachian Stringband Festival actually starts. I really like the earlier part of that week the best; it's so much more laid back and there's lots of visiting with old and new friends :-)
