I attended the Sacajawea Bluegrass Festival in Pasco, WA this last weekend. What an absolutely gorgeous venue. The festival is held at Sacajawea State Park and the weather was great. Bands included The Chapmans, Bottomline, Prairie Flyer, Northern Departure, and the Rabbit Foot Stringband. The workshops included three banjo sessions. Two for 3-finger and one for Claw Hammer. Austin McGregor from Northern Departure and John Chapman of the Chapmans were very informative and I enjoyed both of the 3-finger workshops. Jamming was fun and a slow jam on Saturday night was extremely supportive and full of information for new players. Overall, it was an exceptionally well put on event thanks to the Mid-Columbia Traditional Arts & Music Association.

Man, I missed it! I am going to have to keep up on this stuff! Dan, I will be in your backyard soon. July 11-16 our district is having a church youth camp near Camas. One of the speakers is just learning how to play. I let him have my old GLOBAL banjo for awhile. I will be down there a couple days during the week. Maybe we can get together then. What do you think?

I will be home that week, so please let me know when you would like to get together. I'll send you a PM with my phone number. Are you going to The Columbia Gorge BG Festival in Stevenson on the 21-24 of july? We will be there in the motorhome.
