Just returned from Sandyland Bluegrass Festival last night and had a great time. Our group played Saturday only (2 sets) and led off both shows. We got lots of nice comments and one couple said they only came because they saw our band on the flyer. I saw lots of "no name" banjos and even a Vega. Not many Gibsons in evidence...guess they have priced themselves outa the market to some. Another gig next Saturday.

Fred, sounds like you had a great time. So, where is Sandyland? I presume it's in Texasm, huh? The weather this weekend in upstate NY here was fantastic. I hope you had the same for your first gig. I've got two performances next Saturday with a group called "Ampersand" that I've recently joined. So, we're off to a good start. I have a good friend by the name of Ken McCoy, who plays a great bass and guitar in bluegrass bands down there in your neck of the woods. Well, keep pickin' and hope you have a great festival season coming up.
Bye-the-way, you have some great looking banjos! I play a 1928 Style 5 and fairly new Gibson ESS with a custom neck built for me by Bill Sullivan down there in Kentucky. Take care of yourself...
