A busy summer ahead!

Hi folks,

I hope that all of you here at Banjo Hangout are getting ready to enjoy a great summer of music making. I wanted to pass along my June-July schedule in the hope that I'll run into many of you somewhere around the country this summer. Keep on pickin' everybody!

Thursday to Sunday, June 2-5: Olivet, MI: Midwest Banjo Camp, Olivet College, with Greg Cahill, Janet Beazley, Alan Munde, Jim Mills, David Grier and many others. This has become one of the best banjo camps in the world! Info at http://www.midwestbanjocamp.com/

Saturday, June 11: Phoenixville, PA: I'll be playing with the DePue Brothers Band in a benefit concert for the Francisvale No-Kill Animal Shelter at the Colonial Theater, 227 Bridge Street. The DePue Brothers are an amazing trio of brothers who play an otherworldly mix of bluegrass, classical, rock, jazz and Americana, with Mark Cosgrove on guitar. Tickets at 610-917-1228. Sunday to Wednesday, June 12-15: Grass Valley, CA: California Bluegrass Association Music Camp, Nevada County Fairgrounds. I'll be teaching an intermediate "Working Up Solos" class. Thursday, June 16: Grass Valley, CA: California Bluegrass Association Father's Day Bluegrass Festival. I'll be performing in a special All Star Music Camp Teachers Set on the main stage at 4 p.m. Info at http://fathersdayfestival.com/festivals.aspx

Saturday, June 18: Grass Valley, CA: California Bluegrass Association Father's Day Bluegrass Festival. I'll be performing with the Flatt and Scruggs Tribute Band, featuring an incredible lineup of northern California traditional bluegrass greats: Del Williams (guitar), Paul Shelasky (fiddle), David Thom (mandolin), Jim Mintun (dobro) and Markie Sanders (bass) with special guest Larry Cohea (banjo). Wednesday, July 13: Berkeley, CA: I'll be the special guest of Susie Glaze and the HiLonesome Band at the Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse, 2020 Addison Street, Show at 8 p.m., doors at 7 p.m. Tickets $20.50 in advance / $22.50 at the door. Thursday, July 14: Kensington, CA: Bangers & Grass Session at the Kensington Circus Pub, 389 Colusa Avenue, with Jim Nunally (guitar), Chad Manning (fiddle), Tom Bekeny (mandolin) and Steve Pottier (bass). Music from 8 to 10 p.m. Admission is free! Come early and enjoy fine pub fare and great English, Irish and American beer.

Saturday, July 16: State College, PA: I'll be playing once again with the DePue Brothers Band at the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. Set at Schwab Amphitheatre at 8 p.m. More info at http://www.arts-festival.com/

Sunday, July 17 to Friday, July 22: Levelland, TX: Camp Bluegrass with Alan Munde, Steve Smith, Chris Jones & The Nightdrivers and many, many more! South Plains College. This is the premiere camp event in Texas and one of the most fun camps ever! More info at http://www.arts-festival.com/

Saturday, July 23: Las Cruces, NM: I'll be performing with Steve Smith, Chris Sanders & Hard Road (http://www.desertnight.com/) with special guest Tim May on guitar in a benefit concert for KRWG Radio at the Down Town Mall. This will be my third year performing with Steve at this event - it's a good one! Info at http://www.krwg.org/ and 

Monday to Friday, August 1-5: Fairview, TN: NashCamp Bluegrass Week at Camp Marymount. I'm excited to be returning to this wonderful, intimate camp for all instrumentalists. Info at http://www.nashcamp.com/newsite/Nashcamp/Home.html

Sounds like fun! I wish I could go to the Bluegrass Festival next weekend but we'll be out of state :(
