Saturday, June 11: Phoenixville, PA: I'll be playing with the DePue Brothers Band in a benefit concert for the Francisvale No-Kill Animal Shelter at the Colonial Theater, 227 Bridge Street. The DePue Brothers are an amazing trio of brothers who play an otherworldly mix of bluegrass, classical, rock, jazz and Americana, with Mark Cosgrove on guitar. Tickets at 610-917-1228. Sunday to Wednesday, June 12-15: Grass Valley, CA: California Bluegrass Association Music Camp, Nevada County Fairgrounds. I'll be teaching an intermediate "Working Up Solos" class. Saturday, June 18: Grass Valley, CA: California Bluegrass Association Father's Day Bluegrass Festival. I'll be performing with the Flatt and Scruggs Tribute Band, featuring an incredible lineup of northern California traditional bluegrass greats: Del Williams (guitar), Paul Shelasky (fiddle), David Thom (mandolin), Jim Mintun (dobro) and Markie Sanders (bass) with special guest Larry Cohea (banjo). Thursday, July 14: Kensington, CA: Bangers & Grass Session at the Kensington Circus Pub, 389 Colusa Avenue, with Jim Nunally (guitar), Chad Manning (fiddle), Tom Bekeny (mandolin) and Steve Pottier (bass). Music from 8 to 10 p.m. Admission is free! Come early and enjoy fine pub fare and great English, Irish and American beer.
