Well, this BAS is killing me. I got rid of the MB500 although it was indeed a very nice banjo. I didn't really like the cloud designs on the neck and the headstock looked a little too different for me. But, it sounded very good. The new owner should have a great time playing it.
So, then I was down to NONE. But, that didn't last long. I bought a Goodtime Special off of Amazon for $550 which is a pretty dang good deal for this banjo. It's the new model with the three ply rim and upgraded tone ring. It sounds really good for the price! Plus it weighs very little and is the one I usually pick up when playing around the house.
Just after purchasing the Goodtime I purchased an RK35 Madison. Wow, what a great sounding banjo! Plus, I really like the inlay pattern and headstock shape. What a bargain for only $700! It sounds really good and plays great. My only complaint is the bass note (4th) is a little weak. A new bridge may help with that.
