My thoughts and prayers for you and your wife -- losing a beloved pet is a devastating tragedy. Been there, done that, not fun.

Dogs are such great and noble companions, it still hurts whenever I read of the loss of one's dog. What a nice old face on your dog. Brad

Really sorry for your loss-I recently lost my 16 year old Lurcher Sirius(the dog star..)-cut me up terribly.we love them and they love us back and when they have to go its like losing a family member. I know you'll have him in your heart mate.-Andy

awww. I'm so sorry for you. My dogs are precious to me. I hope I can handle it if I had to do this.
You are very brave, but humane too. He is not suffering now.

We faced the same this past February with one of our beloved Corgis. In time your pain will diminish, leaving you with the joy of having shared life with such a giving companion. MK

thank you all very much... doing a bit better today. I feel good about the way he was put down. It was the easiest and most humane way of all the dogs we have done (3) it was a perfect procedure..

Rick,
Sometimes, the best way to overcome the sadness is to brighten up with a new puppy--preferably a rescue dog whose life will be so improved with you as "parents."
Been there a number of times...it works.
Best,
John

thank you friends
John, I do intend to do that, I agree there are a lot of dogs who need help. Im moving soon, and plan on trying to help out an organization, humane society or something, maybe foster a dog
