My goodness!
Time is going by so quickly! Things are still a hoppin' here at the Elevator, so not much time for pickin! My poor banjo sits in the corner, just waitin!
I've been drooling over pictures of a Stelling "Red Fox". Anyone out there got one, and want to share their experiences with it? Thats my dream banjo! I play a Kay right now, and so far it works for me, although, it plays pretty quiet. I finally broke down and started wearing finger picks, but it seems that the thumb pick is so long, it scrapes the head while I play. Maybe I have poor playin' technique?
Have a good one, banjo friends!

My thimb pick used to hit the head too. I started playing quieter and carefully. Now I can play fast and loud nd no problem.

Thanks Budedm!
I'll give that a try, I also filed the pick down some, that did help some, But I think it needs more!
Again, thanks for the advice!

Luckily I purchased 2 of them when I went to the shop. There was a smaller one that worked great. On a somewhat unrelated tangent, during my first lesson my teacher caught my putting my finger picks on backwards. What am amazing difference it makes to have them on the correct way.
On the flip side, I did look kind of cool with long claw like 'fingernails'.

Oh! I can relate to that claw thing! It was embarrasing to find out that mine were on wrong also! No wonder I couldn't pick right!?
Thanks for the advice! Have a good one!

Hehe. I am glad that I am not the only one who did that.
