Lemme tell you guys!! Heart Attacks suck!!! I went and did one on the 11th. Last thing I expected! I reckon it may be a good thing that diabetics don't have all the pain and stuff some other folks have. We just only can't Breathe!!!! Fortunately, one of my sons was there. He kept a cool head and got emergency services moving. When I got there everyone thought I was a goner but I fooled 'em. Had some good doctors and lost a lot of weight and muscle mass but I'm still here. They even let me bring my banjo up to the room (after I had been there a week) but I had to put a sock in it to keep the volume down. I was in there until Apr. Fool's Day but I'm home now! Seems like I have to snort oxygen 24/7 now but it's probably better than the other thing.
Anyway, I'm laying around with 2 of my sons dancing around going "Here, Dad, let me get that for you", or "Can I get you somthin' to eat? Drink? Wear? etc.
No more smoking, lots of diet changes (which aren't turning out too badly ) lots of tireing rehab exercises, etc., etc. But that means more time on the banjo and guitar and now the mandolin, too. I guess it ain't all bad. I don't recommend it tho.

Good to get a "wake-up" call, where you actually do wake up from it. Keep doing what they tell you and enjoy the TLC -and the music.

I'm so glad to hear you're better and your sons are taking care of you. Heart attacks are life changers for sure. Good luck with stopping smoking and the diet chances. We Okies love our fried food, but it'll kill ya. Let me know if you need anything, I'm just a hop, skip, and a jump away.

Changes...it's a constant. Good thing you do music instead mountain climbing. How about recording the "Nietzsche" heart attack song, "...~ they tried to kill me but I'm stronger than that now ~ ..."

Bill,
I'm glad to hear that you are makin' it through! Giving up those other things will leave more time for the clawhammer!
