Song of The Mountains .....

Posted by kc8tby on Saturday, February 19, 2011

Some of you might know about his but for those of you who do not know, there is a wonderful show on PBS television here in the States called; "Song of The Mountains".  It airs here in the Grand Rapids area about midnight, Saturday night  each week.  I know, I know, its a terrible time but if you are fortunate enough to have a recorder attached to your television than you can record it as I do.

It is a weekly show that features various bluegrass and country performers weekly.  It is hosted by a fabulous banjo and guitar player named Tim White.  Tim also hosts a weekly radio show I hear here in western Michigan called "The Tim White Bluegrass Show".  It is also worth a listen if you ever have a chance to hear it!

Here is the link to the web site for The Song of The Mountains.  It will list what stations nationwide where it is aired:

I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

Slainte!  < Irish for "cheers!"

Tom, I try rto catch it, but in the Washington D.C. area when they do play it, it's on about 5 in the morning. I wonder why. Joe

LOL! well joe, all I can say is that (maybe?) most of the fine folks in Washington D.C. don't have bluegrass music high on their list of priorities?

Tom, can't get the program you mentioned but last night (Saturday) found a series on Blue Grass Music on PBS station at 10 PM. Guess if we check there is stuff out there that will give us a fix.
