Baby on the way

Posted by BourbonBandit on Thursday, February 3, 2011

My wife and I will be heading to the hospital at 10 tonight. Our first baby should be born in the morning. Can't believe the time has finally arrived. Now just to kill time waiting. Send your positive thoughts please!

Congratulations Brett & Mrs. Brett. Is that Lou KY, where I was born and raised? How far north?

Hope it's a trouble-free delivery. I'm sure you've heard it often: "Your life will never be the same again." Or, as a friend put it, "They teach you everything to get the baby born, but nobody teaches you what to do when you get the baby home!"

I was your age when our only child (daughter) was born. (and I was an elementary school teacher, too!) It was a long night which ended in a forceps delivery. I recall heading home after the birth. I felt like I was walking on air.

Some day, when you're my age, you'll look back and wonder how the time flew by. Treasure every moment!

I think you'll do great, especially since you're an elementary school teacher!!! I started young... I'm 40 and have a 23 year old daughter who now has a 4 month old son. So I'm diggin' the whole MawMaw thing now! I will keep y'all in my prayers, and wish you three the best of God's warmth and wishes. :)

Thank you for all your kind words. My wife Susan and I welcomed Otto at 5:42pm on October 4th. We was 20 inches long and weighed in at 6 lbs. 9 oz. My wife was thrilled, he has a head full of dark hair. looks like he was born with a rug. As for how far north of Louisville Ky, about 5 miles north of downtown. I live in Indiana, but work in Louisville. He is unbelievable and although I'm biased, very cute.
