Too much!

Posted by Pepper Laing on Wednesday, January 26, 2011

Way to much bull Cr*p going on on this site, even people I have supported from day one are arguing with me. Anyway I meant no insults to anyone and I believe the freinds that I have made know where I stand. I for one will be going back to why I came to this site in the 1st pace and that is to learn about playing, learn about banjos, to listen to great music, and to keep an eye out for cool banjos to buy, sell, or trade, not to get caught up in winless, pointless arguements with people I don`t even know. I`ll be keeping my comments, and thoughts to myself from now on. Peace to everyone and take care.

Banjos rule!

You said it man! I usually practice 3-6 hours a day and rehearse with my band 2 nights a week and perform at least a show or 2 a month, this past week I learned angeline the baker, Hide Head Blues, and Sally goodwin, and was asked to run for vice president of my provinces Old Tyme and Bluegrass society! it`s great to be a banjo player and we`ve all got alot to learn, less arguing and more playing is where it`s at, but let it be known I`m on the good peoples side that are real players, teachers, and performers, you all know who you are. I choose to ignore the other bull, from now on, so yep let`s pick!!

Its hard not to get caught up in this crap sometimes but I am here for one reason and that is to become a better banjo player and make some friends along the way and I feel I am accomplishing both

Well said Pepper. I agree with your desciption of why we (I) am here. I have met many great people and hope to remain within the circle of friends that I have made, but my goal is and has always been the same as you describe above. Lets pick.

PS: I am none of those things you descibe, but I am a genuine soul and am interested in becoming a real player some day. I am also very appreciaive of those that call me friend and yes I am a newbie, know little or nothing banjo picker at this time, but i still have many nice things to offer those that want to be friends.

Hi Pepper,

I remember a time when a young lady told me that she was furious that a guy made an offhand remark to her. I asked her if she respected him. She replied "No". So, I told her to only worry about remarks made by people you respect. It's really that simple.

I'm not one to argue, but when I do, it's short-sweet-to the point-then get over it.....But, I'm not getting myself pulled into and arguement here....All I want to do is learn and talk about banjo, bluegrass, old-time music, and make some friends and give encouragement with a little humor when I can.....So don't fuss at me 'cause I ain't fussin' back...and that's the truth ;-P LOL...!!

Donnie just because you are a bigginer or whatever doesn`t mean you are not one of those things listed above, that`s the problem with internet posting it`s hard sometimes to convey the whole point. If you love music and in this case banjo it doesn`t matter what level of a player you are, it just matters that you are a passionate person not looking to fight but to learn and grow as a human and a banjo dude! Banjos Rule!! I like this group thing that is now being implimented so like minded people can get together and enjoy them selves, we can now MODERATE ourselves within these groups. Let those others devour themselves. By the way YOUR ALL GOOD PEOPLE.

Good Blog Pepper. Nothing more I can add to that except to keep focus on learning and helping others to learn. The groups project should help to 'clear' things around here. I for one am so relived to have escaped the forum jungle. Keep picking and dont let the trolls get you down.

There are some who would argue with a post. I have found that the best retort is NONE. This whole thing is about banjo and learning period.
