eh up John, is this the usual Leeds Bluegrass Club night? There was some talk about that on UKBG recently. Do you have to pay to get in, do you know? Also, do you know about Abigail Washburn playing Sheffield on Weds night? I know it's not BG but thought you may be interested.

Hey-up Maria, You have to pay to go into the concert room, but we're hoping to get in one of the side rooms in the pub, and do our own thing.
Yes I do know about Abigail Washburn playing Sheffield on Weds night, but we're having a practice session Wed. We've got to keep up with the practice session or we'll just get worse than what we are now, especially with most of us being old codgers lol.

Yeah, I am not bothered about a concert and don't want to pay to jam! I might schlep up to Leeds this week if I know some friendly faces will be there...

Oh also John, that postcode you have posted for it is wrong (just found out coz I copied it to get directions). It's actually LS11 5PL (just in case anyone else intends to use it). Cheers, Maria

I always seem to get post codes wrong.
It would be good see you Maria.
I think there may be a really good fiddle player joining us, of whom you may able to pick up some good tips from her.
Hi Joe, Yes, I suppose leeds is a little too far from where you are. I'm sure we'll get together sometime in the future.
I'm hoping to put in a couple of those licks you showed down in Derby, I can do them ok in a practice session but a jam may be different. But I'll have a go.

Sorry I couldn't make it this time John, I was out Tuesday picking and Wednesday at the concert so it was a bit much for this week! I'll try to make it another time though.

I've played at the Grove with the Down County Boys a couple of times. There always seems to be a jam of some desciption, the atmosphere is fizzing in there! I love the place! I hope to get up there for a Jam asap!

Yes, it was fizzing alright! There were 5 different bands there playing in the side rooms. We were asked to play in the concert room, so we did last spot after a couple hours warm-up and it was probably the best we'd played. A good evening was had by all!
