I've changed my bio and profile for two reasons;
1) from today, I now qualify for a bus pass and heating allowance (in the UK).
2) because I've been learning Scruggs style banjo for five years, I thought I should up-grade myself from "novice". But unfortunately there's nothing in between "novice" and "purty good", so I've gone for "purty good".
However, I do promise to practice and practice and hopefully in time I'll qualify for the purty good title.

Welcome to the Over 60`s club. I got my bus pass the year before last just for the hell of it. I have used it once. It was the most uncomfortable, smelly and unpleasant travel experience of my life. Mind you it was free.
By the way, you`ll very quickly start using the Over 60 Club as an excuse for the momentary episodes of memory loss that will arrive with increasing frequency now. Just don`t forget where you have left your banjo. Banjo playing keeps us young I think.
Congratulations and happy birthday .......................Peter V.

Happy Birthday John. I didn't think you were any where near the sixty mark. Just shows that our perception of what might be classed as old changes the nearer we get to it.

Congrat's you OLD (Purty Good) banjo player, 'wonder what I'll be like @ your age??

And I agree about the gradings - never quite sure what qualifies you to go from Just Startin and Novice, and Purty Good always seems a leap up from that!
Maybe if anyone on the BHO works in HR, they could do us a proper competancy matrix....no..noooo..noooooo...forget I said that.....

Happy Birthday John from another Capricorn! It's also my little bro's birthday today. You definitely merit the purty good handle, so embrace it!
