Well, another windy day here in ND! Hopefully some rain will follow. It would sure green up our pastures nice!
My band, Dakota Nights, has been getting a few bookings for 2007. So far there's one in a week, playing for a school benefit, one in june, for a county fair, and one in July, Arts on the Prairie, in Dickinson, in their beautiful outdoor bandshell. Its alot of fun doing these gigs, and if I had my way, the Band would have alot more! A couple of the guys are farmer/ranchers, so it would be more difficult for them to get away for more. Our band plays mostly country classic, and some swing, with a little 50's and 60's thrown in too! Once in a while, I'll have a "Bluegrass moment" and throw in a song or two of that! With time, maybe we'll get into more! I'm also part of a trio "The Praire Belles" which plays entirely Bluegrass. That's alot of fun, "Cause I get to play my banjo more, as well as my accoustic bass. Does anyone out there play an accoustic bass too? Not the up right one, but the regular guitar accoustic bass. Just wondering!
Time to go! Nothing like sneaking in a blog while at work!
"How can one not feel happy, when they hear a banjo play!?"
