I had a great time playing yesterday at a fundraising event for the Montgomery County Food Bank. It gave me the opportunity to play and storytell in front of a pretty good crowd. Many of us dressed in early 1800's attire. The event was held at Fernland in Montgomery, TX. The old buildings have been moved to that location from the original hunting area of Sam Houston. I played a number of old tunes on my Deering Goodtime and told stories from the Civil War. All in all, we had a great time listening to good music and eating great BBQ and Chili. I had a lot of great comments about my Deering and the oldtime sound that it made.
