Arizona Workshop and Concert Tour November 6-8

Posted by bevans on Saturday, October 23, 2010

Hi folks,

I'm very excited to be making my first workshop and solo concert tour of Arizona on November 6-8. Here are all of the details you need to know:

Saturday, November 6th: Tempe, AZ: "Scruggs and Back-up Essentials and Sounding Great At Your Next Jam," banjo workshop with Dick Brown! Acoustic Vibes Music, 2070 E. Southern Avenue, 1 to 4 p.m. Fee is $50 and advance reservations are recommended by phoning Jeff at 602-205-5946 or email to Jeff@Acousticvibesmusic.com. Like all of my workshops, this will be a practical, "hands on and let's play," sessoin. Dick and I will compare and contrast techniques and we'll discuss everything from using licks in backup and solos, to playing with relaxation, jam etiquette, capo use and other topics as requested by participants. For all level players, audio and video taping encouraged, tab examples will be provided.

Sunday, November 7th: Tucson, AZ: "Bluegrass Banjo Jam Survival Skills," a bluegrass banjo workshop from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., $45 fee, advance registration required. Call Marshall Vest at 520-907-9698 for information and registration. This session is open to all levels of players but is ideal for those with one or more years of playing experience. Audio and video taping encouraged and tab examples will be available.

Sunday, November 7th: Tucson, AZ: Bill presents "The Banjo in America," my concert featuring over 250 years of banjo music from Africa to the New World, including minstrel, classic, old-time and bluegrass styles played on vintage instruments. Civano Activity Center, Seven Generations Way and Civano Blvd., 7 to 9 p.m., $15 suggested donation, for more information contact 520-907-9698. Seating is limited. Check out video samples of concert excerpts at youtube.com/user/BillEvansBanjo

Monday, November 8th: Tucson, AZ: Bill teaches a band and jam workshop for all instruments sponsored by the Desert Bluegrass Association. Contact Marshall at 520-907-9698 for additional info.

I hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Bill Evans
