Places to play in Tennessee?

Posted by Pepper Laing on Tuesday, October 12, 2010

I`m trying to help some freinds find some more contacts and gigs or possible gigs in and around Nashville, Knoxville and Memphis TN. They are headed down south in Feb. to go to the Folk Alliance in Mephis and then over to SXSW in Texas. If anyone has some suggestions I can pass along, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. all points in between as well.

Knoxville--it doesn't pay, but a very good place to start is the live weekday noon concert at WDVX, the Blue Plate Special. wdvx.com . It is usually booked around 2 months in advance.

Yep thats a good one I did that show a couple years ago and is one place I`m putting them in touch with, also the Preservation Pub and Barleys, and Wild Wings. The more doors to knock on the better tho. I think it may be a tough time to get any paying gigs around there due to the economy, Phil Leadbetter just told me there all fighting for what ever gigs there are, need to make money. They may be plumb out of luck but I`m trying my best to help out. Thanks for your reply tho.
