I am finally back at the shop, and reminiscing about my 5 weeks in Europe. See my blog archive for the complete story. I want to collect links to videos and photos to remember the trip, and if you know of any links showing me in Europe, can you please pass them on to me, or post them in a comment below? Thanks, I had such a great time. I'm glad I am still alive though. Upon leaving a Glasgow bar, my banjo neck swept down an entire table filled with full whiskies and beers. You just don't do that in a Glasgow bar and get away with it, but I did. We had a great jam with accordian player Neil Gunn and new Nechville owner Ian Maclachlan before desecrating the bar with my swift manouver. After the wild night in Glagow, I was off to Cornwall, the town of Newquay, and home of the Cornish Bluegrass festival. It is one of my favorites. It is small enough to get to know everybody, but big enough to attract great acts like Leon Hunt and The Scoville Units, Brian Wicklund and Brother Mule, and Jean-Marie Redon and Blue Railroad Train. I came back to find my guys had done a great job in the shop, cranking out about a dozen new instruments for IBMA. IBMA was great, as usual. I am so appreciative of my friends in Europe that helped make my trip successful, that I felt especially happy to support the International "Foreign Affairs" showcases on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at IBMA. Great Music all around. I had a front row seat running sound. Friday Nechville hosted an International banjo night, with players from the US, Canada, Italy and Spain. Austin McGregor from Northern Departure was particularly hot on his new Phantom, and Lluis Gomez from Spain treated us to some jazzy original pieces. Silvio Ferretti from Red Wine was kind enough to join us on a few numbers as well. The weekend yeilded great sales results as we made contacts with friends old and new and sold several banjos. We still have a nice selection of banjos to choose from, but they are disappearing fast. Welcome to new Associate Bill Hayes from Shapleigh, Maine. He has taken on a gorgeous new Orion Mahogany Corona and a Maple Phantom, If you get to Maine, be sure to look him up, he has a bunch of pre-war's as well. See Ya, Tom

Welcome back to the US Tom! I'm glad IBMA went well. I really should some time get down there for that. I was fun reading your stories in Europe. The Orion I have is still in one piece and enjoying it. I've been getting a lot of comments about it.
