Hand in hand we stand all across the land!

Posted by Janna on Friday, September 24, 2010

Hello, my dear friends!

Thank you very much for being my friends and for your inspiring banjo music!!!

As you know, Tom Nechville invited me on IBMA in Nashville this year. I was very happy!!!I know it will be very very soon - on 27 of September (!)

But, unfortunately, I had no enough time for make a visa and preparing other things for that big travel to the opposite side of the Earth... But Tom said that maybe on the next year I'll be there with my band! So now I think now I have more time and we'll try to make everything for make this trip come true, because to travel in other countries and see other people - it was always the dream of my life!  America... sometimes it seems that I lived there in my past life, so now that's the answer why I'm still love sounds of banjo and American folk music so much!.. And if I could be on any bluegrass festival - I'll be very happy because I never saw a banjo player in my real life!

I wish from all my heart to Tom and all who will be there on Nashville IBMA 2010 to spend these days very interesting and joyful, I hope you'll find anything really great for you while spending time there with your bluegrass friends and other interesting people from around the world!!!

And what I can say about my life here, in Uzbekistan, is just because I'm a half Korean girl, so three days ago I was invited to the Korean holiday named Chusok as a singer, where I must to perform a song on Korean language. But I was inspired of my banjo and Nashville IBMA this time, so me and Alex decided to make a new song that I could perform for our Korean people and they could wonder very much about me with banjo and also it was a song for all my banjo friends on BanjoHangout.
Our Korean people never saw me playing banjo yet, so I used my banjo in this song. No, it is not a bluegrass song, but it is a great famous song written in Korean and English by G. Moroder.

And I think that sound of my banjo could made this song more interesting and extraordinary for all people who will listen to it! I like the words in this song - that's what I feel now about you and me.

Dear friends, I dedicate this song to you!!!

Sone Son (Hand In Hand)

Beautiful sentiments Janna,
Korea does have a history with banjos. I've owned several Vegas (The oldest banjo mfg.) including my current one that was made in the 1980's in Korea on Vega tooling.
I hope you are able to come to the USA next year.
