We were lucky enough to have been invited to play at the Rotherham Show (South Yorkshire, United Kingdom) last weekend, and because out mandolin player had been working we had to do the final spot, which made it look like we were the headliners. But what the heck? We enjoyed it all the same, as so did the audience.
We've, perhaps, done about thirty gigs since we first started playing in public (since Feb 2009), playing 3 or 4 half hour sets through the evening, but it's the first time we've done a spot for a full hour and then got a rousing round of applause for an encore!
I was more nervous when I got up in the morning thinking about the day ahead than when I was on stage. But we managed 3/4 hour warm-up session well outside the marquee (see photos below) berfore we got on stage following Martin Simpson (a real top headliner in the UK).
Hope you don't read this blog as a boast, but I'm cock-a-hoot about it!
