I have been starting to buy and sell banjos and other instruments. I`m trying to become a reputable instrument dealer in my area of the country. My plan has been to keep an eye open for good deals on good mid range priced instruments, buy them, bring them up here to Canada and offer them up for sale. Some I will keep others I won`t. I have been frustrated at the choice and avalability of good instruments around here and so therefore want to step into that market. Your choices around here are slim. Either absolute junk or over priced custom made jobs and not much in between. So far things have been going good and I`m building up my purchasing cash flow , so I can jump on and purchase them as they come up for sale. If they are within the quality and price guidlines I`m after, I will try to get it in my hands. I will be and have been inquiring about all the good stuff I see but can`t buy them all, yet. Over the last year I have bought, sold and traded, vintage guitar and bass amps, mandolins, acoustic and electric guitars, pedal steel, stand up bass, microphones, drum sets, organs, and six banjos. My latest aquisitions are a Stelling Sunflower, and a Gibson F9 mandolin. Within a few days there will be 2 more good instruments available to the Winnipeg market that otherwise people would not get a chance to play and see in hand. Not many people around here wanna take the risk of buying sight un-seen and risk of damage and rip offs so I`m gonna take that risk and hope I can put some nice instruments in peoples hands. If I find the right ones tho, they`re mine.

pepper ,i agree with what you are doing,i sure hope you know who these people are i find these days its very hard to find someone you can truly trust ,my dad would shake your hand as many old farmers would do, and it would be as good as money, i find those days are gone, even if i wish they were not .In this area there is no one that i know of that sells good used instuments like you said lots of garbage, for lots of money ,i think you are on the right track best of luck.ron
