Just last week I created a blog to help people learn to play church music on the banjo and guitar (and maybe a little mandolin). It has absolutely free videos, and will soon also have free tablature. Banjo Hangout is the first place that I thought of to tell people about my blog. Up until today I have not posted it anywhere. It also has bluegrass gospel and some straight bluegrass, and pictures of the banjo that I built. I will also add some videos of other music, like "Sweet Georgia Brown" that I just figured out how to play.
When I was learning to play the banjo back in 1973 or 1974, I learned from "Earl Scruggs and the 5-String Banjo" (great book!) Everywhere I went I would look for a good book on how to play church music on the banjo. I couldn't find any that I really liked, so I learned how to play them on my own.
My blog is listed on my contact information. It is called BanjoButch and it can be found at the link that I am putting here: http://banjobutch.blogspot.com/
So far I only have a few banjo videos uploaded. So I plan to get my tablature on the blog soon, since that is a lot easier and faster to do. I have quite a few guitar videos already out there. I made them for a guy in my church who was substituting for me in the Praise Band while I was out of town. Now I need to make some more BANJO videos for you all.
Enjoy!
