Canoeing Camping Banjo?

Posted by Rusty on Saturday, April 7, 2007

I'm looking for a decently priced open back for camping, canoeing and such, I do not want to spend alot since it will be exposed to the elements. Anyone have an old one laying around to sell?

Are you going to the BWCA? I've been there a couple of times. I'd take a Deering Goodtime. They're light weight, cheap, and sound fairly decent. I don't own one, but I've got a friend who uses it for the same reasons you'd be using it. Also, if you lose a paddle, the Goodtime will get you home in an emergency.

Deering goodtime in my canoe, same reasons as above. I'm currently inventing a plastic one I can play in the tub!

Wonderful, thanks for the banjo advise, I sually canoe the BWCA once a year and head down the St Croix river two or three time a year too.
