banjo project

Posted by bobbiloughlin on Saturday, April 7, 2007

I've been thinking about doing something unusual for a girl.  I'd like to be able to get some banjos that are not being used, i.e. just sitting in someone's closet or attic, or that have been discarded for some reason, whether the person was given the banjo and just not interested in learning how to play it or whatever the reason, restore them and then either sell them or if I really like the particular instrument, add it to my collection of instruments. So if you know of any banjos and/or parts of banjos that are just sitting around collecting dust and or getting ready to be discarded, please let me know. would prefer free stuff for financial reasons, but occasionally would be able to pay a little bit for them.

I had a similar idea in an attempt to procure a better banjo for cheap. I posted a (free) ad to If you've not used it it is a great, free, community message board for buying, selling, trading, services, etc. Good luck trackin' down that buried treasure!

Hi fellow hoosier. :-)

Yahoo has a free stuff community too, your only requirement is to go pick it up when you say you will. It's a swap or recycle link or something, I know Lafayette has one, but Lebanon might have one too. My yahoo names have been hijacked.. and I can't get a response from Yahoo, so I don't have access right now or I'd give you the link. Good luck with your plan though.

Hi Bobbi! You advised in my breakup thread about the bad news your going thru right now. I pray you all make it, it it's not too late for that. I thought maybe you would like to update your blog with the sad news. Please hang in there, as we all have to band together in such times. My best to you, and I pray things get happier for all of us! - Terry
