Just finished listening to Adam Hurts' "Perspective" about four times straight. I then picked up my banjo to see how much had been absorbed.......ZERO.
How does he put so many notes in a single phrase?? This guy is simply amazing! I have heard him described as the Bela Fleck of Clawhammer, and it's eazy to see why. If you want to listen to some really great banjo music I would highly recommend this CD.
I'm gonna listen one more time. I'm sure something's gonna reach my finger tips this time.

I love the bear in the banjo head. I used a Special Olympics Plane Pull T-Shirt, but that's way more imaginative.
Good luck with the osmosis thing. I've tried sleeping with my harmonica and that hasn't worked either.

Instead of a bear, use a speaker.
Run a pair of wires from the speaker to the output jack on your CD player, pop in an Adam Hurt CD, press play, and your banjo will sound a LOT better than when you irritate the strings with your fingers.

You should check out his Earthtones CD. He is playing a gourd banjo on that one. I think it is his best CD yet.

Listening to Adam Hurt's banjo = Enjoyment
I've only purchased Earthtones so far, and have learned one tune from it, with two more in mind. I'll be happy to get his other CD, but after listening to them a bit, I bet that the gourd banjo takes the grand prize on tone. I have to credit Paul Roberts, too, who was the inspiration behind Earthtones and recorded it.

Over a year later, Phil, and I've had my 12th Skype lesson with Adam. A worthwhile venture which will answer your questions. He's a great teacher and the time goes too quickly each month we get together through Skype--from North Carolina to California!

Listen to Chance McCoy's first album " Debut". Great, great old tunes and Adam Hurt plays amazing banjo. You can download the album for free on Chance's web page.
